Nichole Westin joined CEE in 2003 as the Director of Government Relations. In this position, she is responsible for work focused on tracking and analyzing trade issues in legislation; working with all federal agencies associated with trade policy such as the Export Import Bank of the US (Exim), OPIC, TDA, and Departments of State, Treasury, and Commerce; tracking and providing information on global trade practices; following and addressing developments at multilateral financial institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and the OECD; and educating Members on impact of globalization in both expanding and contracting economies. Ms. Westin also currently serves as the U.S. business representative at the OECD Export Credit Working Group and as Board Member for the Washington Export Council.
Ms. Westin came from the Export-Import Bank of the US where she held various positions with the Board of Directors, lastly as a Special Assistant in the Chairman's office. Before that, she worked in the office of Director Dan Renberg where she covered many issues, including the Renewable Energy Advisory Committee. From 1998 until 2000, Ms. Westin worked in the office of Senator James Jeffords of Vermont.
Ms. Westin graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in History and she holds a Masters in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University. She was born into a military family and has lived in Arizona, Utah, Germany, and Vermont. Ms. Westin currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
